Assault on Undead Tower – Gaming at the Basin

This weeks sessions started a bit late, but it was all good at the end:

Scenario:  After revisiting the undead infested town we returned to the safety of the woods to heal up and prepare the the final attack against the ‘tower’ and manor – where we assumed the master undead that was creating and controlling the rest of these critters would be:

  • Black Skeletons – Skeletons with the ability to drain one’s strength
  • Skeleton Clerics
  • Skeleton Wizards i/ Firebased mainly
  • And neczrozins ? small bits of animated destroyed undead…

Skeleton Warrior Mage
We returned to assault the tower a day or so later, using spells from Harsk (dwarven cleric) and Stephanie (Human bard, Harsk;s wife) we flew invisibly and dimension door’ed up to the top of the tower, destroying a few skeletons up there before entering into the tower itself.

I, the brave rogue that I am, flittered down through the trap door and vanished into the shadows into a small 30 x 30 foot room filled with more of the above creatures…

The warriors Jamella (human fighter) and Sir Rupert (human paladin) joined me shortly and we began the task of destroying the undead.  Harsk cast a well timed silence spell preventing the undead wizard casting any spells – he fled the scene quite rapidly.  His cleric remained, using channeling to keep the rest of the undead healed up.

The battle lasted quite some time, and I was forced to qiled my quaterstaff more than my sling or daggers as the skeletons have a large resistance to non bludgeoning attacks.

We managed to win through once more and again had to leave the twoer for the safety of the woods to heal up and restore our lost strength.

The next day we returned to assault the manor itself (built around the tower) by using a stone shape spell to create a doorway through the wall we assaulted some troll skeletons, another wizard who once again fled and a zombie jester who caused me to laugh hysterically, keeping me out of the combat.

This battle seemed a lot easier and we also found the shrine to ‘a good saint’ in one of the rooms.  With the tower cleared, and a few more levels below the manor to explore, we are close to finding the source of this madness and end it forever.
