Comment Testing

In doing some strategic link building to day, I began to wonder.  Does Google and other search engines index the comment itself?

You place your comment on whatever site and do it ethically with your name (or an alias) and the url you are trying to promote.

Now we know Google counts your name as the anchor text and back link, but does Google index the content of your comment as well and relate keywords in there to your site?

Perhaps we should try testing this in the next few weeks?
