Google at War with the News ‘Kings’
It seems in recent weeks that the greater players in the Newspaper Industry are trying to block out Google from indexing their sites – claiming that Google is not paying for the information and therefore is stealing it…
It gets worse actually (or better for some) as it seems Bing is playing on this information and trying to get exclusive rights to the Wall Street Journal (and possibly amongst others). If this happens, Bing will strengthen its position in the search engine hierarchy and perhaps, Google will be forced to pay for the use of these sites…
A question now arrises – does Mr Murdoch have a stake in Microsoft? Is this a ploy or will it actually come about. In the end, this blogger believes that the Big G will win out but may still have to pay a few million $ for the information or at least the right to share that information – the question remains, will they pay Bing or will the pay Murdoch?
